As I am sure you have heard by now, Governor DeWine has announced that salons in Ohio will reopen on May 15. The Salon M team could not be more excited to see you and make you more beautiful than ever before! We are also deeply committed to keeping you and our staff safe and will be operating in full compliance to the guidelines developed by Governor DeWine’s, Personal Services Advisory Group. 


One thing we must all embrace is that the way business was done prior to the shutdown, will not be the same when we return on May 15th. We want you all to know what to expect when you visit the salon. Salon M will work diligently to meet and exceed all state, local and regulatory guidelines relating to sanitation and hygiene. 


Safety Guidelines for Staff and Salon Premises:

  • Throughout the day we will be fully sanitizing all treatment spaces that clients come in contact with, including chair, shampoo bowls, scissors, brushes, door handles, bathrooms, hard surfaces, front desk, credit card machine, etc.

  • We will provide clean, sanitized towels, robes, capes, etc., for each client.

  • All salon employees will be scanned with an infrared thermometer as they enter the salon.  

  • All salon employees will wash and sanitize their hands throughout the day.

  • All stylists will be required to wear a mask while providing services.

  • All clients will be required to wear a mask during their visit to the salon. If you do not have a mask, we will have them available for purchase.  

  • If your appointment includes a color service, we will have space for you to develop in the front of the fitness center next door. Of course you can also use your car. Assuming we have space in the salon, handicapped and older clients will have preference to develop in salon.

  • If you are auto immune compromised and are worried about being around other clients, please contact your stylist directly. We will do our best to make arrangements for you to visit the salon when fewer people are there.

  • Please bring your own refreshments and reading material, as we will not be permitted to provide our normal self-serve coffee bar, other refreshments, or magazines. 

  • To limit the number of people in the salon, please come to your appointment alone.

  • Please do your best to limit the number of items you bring with you into the salon.


Other Guidelines and Requests:

  • We will be calling and re-booking all clients who missed appointments during the shutdown first. Our on-line booking system will remain turned off until we work through the backlog of clients.

  • Upon reopening and for a short period of time thereafter, some stylists will not be taking kids cuts in order to accommodate the backlog of their adult clients.

  • Upon reopening and for a short period thereafter, we will not be booking shampoo “Blow Dry’s”, as we will be working to get haircut and color appointments in first.

  • Upon reopening and for a short time thereafter, we will be booking only one appointment out. No standing appointments will be booked until we are able to accommodate the backlog of clients. 

  • Please call as soon as you park in Mt Lookout. You will be asked to wait in your car until your stylist is ready for you.

  • To eliminate lines at the front desk, we may ask you to pay for your service before going back with your stylist, during your appointment, or after your appointment.  We offer Apple Pay and most stylists offer Venmo.   

  • Our receptionists will assist you with any product needed, as we want to limit contact with all items.

I've been to salons all over....I've done my share of business travel and I am always so pleased to return to Salon m on the 'Lookout.' They know me and what I like...they know how I take my coffee.
